Beach Renourishment and Erosion
While there is no consensus about what is causing erosion on our island (or whether anything should be done about it), there is no doubt that it is a fact of life on this barrier island. The North Captiva Community Beach Restoration Inc. (NCCBRI) is a nonprofit organization formed by a group of concerned homeowners in 2016. With the expansion of its Board to 7 members, the NCCBRI hopes to promulgate a broader community conversation on this issue that will result in a long term beach management plan. While some studies have been done, the NCCBRI does not at this time advocate a specific solution. Get complete details of NCCBRI’s newsletter by clicking here.
