The Only Way to Paradise Is by Water 🌴
Planning your Island Club getaway? One thing every guest should know before packing their bags — North Captiva Island is only accessible by boat or ferry. There are no bridges, no cars, and no roads connecting us to the mainland. That’s part of what makes this island so magical.
🏝️ Why There’s No Bridge to North Captiva
North Captiva is a barrier island separated from the mainland by Pine Island Sound. To preserve its unspoiled beaches, wildlife, and peaceful atmosphere, the island was intentionally left car-free. Every golf cart you see here arrived by ferry, just like you will!
⛴️ The Ferry Experience: What to Expect
Your Island Club vacation starts the moment you step aboard the Island Club Ferry, the exclusive guest transport between the mainland and our island.
- Departure Point: The Island Club Mainland 5576 Doug Taylor Circle
- Duration: 10 minute shuttle bus drive, then 30 minutes of beautiful, scenic waterway views
- Frequency: Runs several times daily, with evening crossings available for later arrivals
- What You’ll See: Dolphins, mangroves, pelicans, and sometimes even manatees as you glide through Pine Island Sound
- Our team meets every ferry to greet arriving guests, assist with luggage, and get you settled into your vacation home quickly.
💼 What to Bring & How to Prepare
Because North Captiva is boat-access only, it’s important to plan ahead:
- 🧳 Pack smart – limit to small bags or rolling coolers if possible.
- 🍎 Bring groceries or pre-order delivery – there’s a small island market, but mainland shopping options are more plentiful.
- 📱 Save your confirmation details – your ferry time, check-in info, and host contact number.
- 🚘 Arrive 30–45 minutes early to park, unload, and check in before your ferry departs.
🕓 Ferry Check-In and Timing
The ferry runs on a fixed schedule, and reservations are required. Please note:
- The ferry does not operate 24 hours — if you’re delayed, you’ll need to contact your host to arrange alternate transport.
- Changes to your ferry time must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Each ticket has 1 bin 1 case of water and 1 suitcase included
- You can bring beach chairs and a wagon but only if it’s foldable
