Getting to North Captiva Island
Your First Stop is The Welcome Center
Your first stop is the Guest Welcome Center located on Pine Island in St. James City, FL. From there your luggage, groceries and supplies will be loaded onto a bus and then drive to the marina dock where it will be loaded onto the ferry.
Make sure to book your ferry first and arrange with the reservation how many people are traveling in your party, what supplies you need, how many bins you will need, etc..

- Airport Arrival
You can come by air. For convenience you’ll either fly into either Fort Myers or Punta Gorda Airport. Fort Myers is more commercial and has all the big airlines traveling through it. It is only about an hour away from North Captiva Island. Punta Gorda is also about an hour away from the island and is a smaller airport serving Allegiant Air. From either of these airports you would then take an airport shuttle or car.
- Airport Shuttle
You can come by Land. Travel can be stressful. That is why the team at Pine Island Taxi and Limo are here to help. - Ferry Reservations & Schedule
You can come by Sea. The ferry to the island runs every 1-1.5 hours. You can book your reservation online or see the upcoming schedule here.
- Boat Slips
You can come by sea… again. If you are traveling by boat, or want to bring and dock your own boat you have options. Safety Harbor Club homes or homes with membership to the North Captiva Marina Association include docking arrangements for a small fee. There are also several rental properties along the canal and conveniently include two boat slips. You can also request a boat slip here.
- Order Groceries Ahead of Time
You can pack food and beverages within the allotted amount of cargo you bring with you. You can also plan groceries ahead of time. We have grocery services that can help. They can pick up your order from Publix and have your place stocked before your arrival! Your groceries will be conveniently packed, labeled and waiting for you. What You Can Transport to North Captiva Island
- TRANSPORTING CARGO: There is a generous cargo limit, but please keep in mind your baggage will travel by sea, golf cart, and human hands so be sure to pack economically. Any piece of luggage exceeding 60 lb will incur an additional fee. This is to help ensure the safety of the staff, efficiency of gas mileage, and overall expediency of the transport.
- CARGO ALLOWANCES PER PASSENGER:
- 1 full sized piece of luggage (not exceeding 50 lb)
- 1 large bin per ticket purchased (Up to 50 lb of Groceries)
- 1 24 pack case or container of liquids
As an example– a party of 4 is allowed up to 4 large pieces of luggage , 4 large bins, and 4 cases of beverages. You are also welcome to do combinations of the above as long as your group doesn’t go over the previously listed limitations.
- ADDITIONAL CARGO FEES: If you need to bring more things with you– no problem! Sometimes you can’t fit it all in one bag. If you feel you will exceed your cargo limits, please reply to your confirmation email at least 48 hours in advance so adjustments can be made.Please find the additional fees below you will be charged per specific piece:
- $10 per full size additional piece
- $10 per additional large bin
- $2 per additional large container or case of beverages
- COMPLIMENTARY BINS: You’ll have the option to be provided with a complementary 38 gal Rubbermaid bin. It’s great for transporting groceries or other loose items. The bins must be returned within 4 hours of your arrival to avoid incurring a retrieval fee.

- Mangos Pool Bar
Conveniently located in the pool area, Mangos Pool Bar offers a full array of beverages and bites. From classic cocktails to signature creations to a variety of nonalcoholic concoctions enjoy some sips while lounging by the pools. With that in mind, don’t forget to eat something! Mango Pool Bar also offers some mouth-watering lunchtime nibbles.
- Mangos Store
Want to grab a few essentials for the rental? Mangos Store also has a grocery section so you grill up some memories right where you’re staying.
